My love for birth work first started in 2011, where I had the honor of working as a birthing assistant at the first and only birth center on the beautiful tropical island of Guam! There, I worked alongside 4 ObGyns, 4 CNMs, 5 RNs, and up to 6 other birthing assistants while providing a medical model of care.
In 2013 my family and I had made a big move to Washington state where I was introduced to the midwifery model of care working with up to
10 CPMs (Certified Professional Midwives) and
2 CNMs (Certified Nurse Midwife)
While my time in Washington mostly consisted of working at the local birth center in Tacoma, I also have experience with home and hospital births. I loved the midwifery model of care so much that I decided after several years as a midwife assistant that I would attend school to become a midwife myself!
I started providing placenta services to clients as of March 2016 in Washington state and was trained by a local midwife I worked with. She was very knowledgeable and detailed when it came to instructing me in the proper preparation of this intimate service for my future clients. She entrusted in me so much that she decided to start referring her placenta service clients to me, while she focused more on her extremely busy and growing midwifery practice. All thanks to her for making a big name for herself and becoming one of the top midwives in our area, I was able to take off quickly with my own placenta services as I became her only referral.
I was also fortunate to have such a great relationship with the other midwives I worked with that I became their only referral as well! That was truly a blessing since there were so many placenta encapsulation specialists in the area.
We relocated to Iowa in July of 2017. I was hired at the local birth center downtown, as a birth/midwife assistant, as of September 2017.
As I work towards completing my school work and receiving my Bachelors of Science in Midwifery, I also look forward to the challenge of building up a new client base in the community. I believe that placenta services are very beneficial, so much that I have essence and encapsulated my own placenta for the first time with my 5th child! It made sense to do so since learning and hearing first hand what my clients had to say about their services!
Please contact me for more details on whether or not these services are right for you, as well as if you are in the service area.
